The copyright on this photo of Edward as Alfred, belongs to the official website for "A-List" which describes the movie thus: Darren Chandler has always wanted to be on the A-List. He takes an uncalculated risk, leaving behind his safe life as an accountant, for the thrill of Hollywood. Thrills are not what he finds in Tinsel Town, however. He struggles, until, finally a twist of fate lands him on the A-List, with surprising repercussions.

Again, the official website for "Fighting Words", describe the movie thus: Jake Thompson, an angry coffeehouse poet, meets Marni Elliot, an attractive, conservative publisher, who is interested in his work. She wants him to enter the Los Angeles Poetron, a contest where poetry is read competitively. Jake rejects the idea because he believes poetry is an art and not a competition. But the beautiful Marni sways Jake—it’s love at first sight. When they tumble into bed together, however, Marni tells him that she is HIV positive. Jake shuns the relationship but they are drawn together by the need to get his poetry published. As they prepare for the poetry slam where he will compete against her former lover, Jake realizes his feelings for Marni and her condition have helped him transcend his anger. The emotional change in Jake allows him to become a better poet and competitor in the LA Poetron competition. Edward's character is Marc Neihauser.

Edward's 2004 movie, "The Work and the Glory" was showing in US movie theaters in January 2005 and is now on DVD in the US. The story features the founding of the Mormon church and revolves around the Steed family, particularly brothers Nathan (Alexander Carroll) and Joshua (Eric Johnson) who have opposing points of view about most things with the exception of Lydia (Tiffany Dupont). Edward doesn't appear to have enough screen time, but, in a review on-line, he is the only actor singled out for praise: "Among the cast, only the veteran Edward Albert, portraying a neighbor who comes to accept Smith's message, stands out as somebody who knows how to hold the camera and make his inner life reach the screen."

An interesting concept, the 2004 movie, "No Regrets" is a film-within-a-film and has been likened to "The Big Chill". It concerns an apparently happily married couple, Alex and Cheryl Wheeler. Alex however, has complex relationships not just with his wife but with his former college sweetheart, Suzanne (Kate Jackson who played Edward's wife in the 70's movie 'Death Cruise') and he is a film director making a biopic of his own life, so apart from the real 'Alex' and 'Cheryl' (Jennifer Hetrick) there is also the couple playing them, Robert Merrill and Janine Turner.

"Ablaze" is a disaster movie from 2000 (TV premiere January 2002 in the UK). Although it stars John Bradley, sounding and looking like a young Richard Gere, Amanda Pays, Ice-T and Tom Arnold, it's pretty much an ensemble cast with a lot of familiar faces. Despite a script peppered with hackneyed cliches ("just doing my job ma'am...just doing my job") and one absurdly contrived joke ("What did you have for lunch?" "Keep driving like this and I'll show you"), it's quite an exciting movie. The plot deals with an oil refinery fire which rages out of control and heads towards a hospital, when the race is on to evacuate patients and staff before the 'firestorm' erupts and kills everyone in the vicinity. It's a tale of corrupt politicians (Edward, as "Mayor Phillips"), dirty tricks and pay-offs and the devastating effects all these things can have on the lives of ordinary, innocent citizens. Ironically, there's a brief scene of a tall building - similar to the twin towers in structure - exploding and collapsing; but since the movie was made in 2000 this is just an unfortunate coincidence and no fault of the film-makers. None of the actors has a huge amount of screen time, but Edward is dreadfully under-used in his role as the stressed Mayor gradually realising that his corrupt ways have become his downfall.

A 2001 movie was "Night Class" (although it premiered on TV in the UK under the title "Seduced By A Thief") and although the character of 'Ned Shelley' didn't get nearly enough screen time for Edward's fans, it was a role pivotal to the movie. He played the ultimate bad guy, a drugs smuggler, who most of the other characters had either worked for, been betrayed by or bedded in the past, and each knew he was the very last man they should cross. Don't let the sinister smile in the photos fool you. This is one man who neither forgives nor forgets. Starring Rick Peters and Sean Young, Edward gets the prestigious credit "Special Appearance by..." An item of trivia for "Beauty and the Beast" fans; Ron Perlman also stars in the movie and Edward says they really enjoyed working together again. He commented that they had even more fun between takes, catching up and exchanging funny stories. The movie is an entertaining caper thriller that should please fans of the genre.

A Time To Die (aka Seven Graves for Rogan) is a powerful and poignant film. Edward plays Michael Rogan, an American working for the French underground against the Nazis in WWII. His skill is decoding and remembering codes without aides, and when he and his pregnant wife along with other villagers are captured he knows they are in great danger. Seven international high ranking army officers are all party to the cold-blooded murder of the group, and before being shot in the head, Rogan is cruelly psychologically tortured by hearing his wife screaming repeatedly, only to be told she died within the first hour. Barely surviving the shooting, he determines to execute all 7 men involved, despite being hampered by the fact he still has pieces of the bullet in his head. He is alternately helped and hindered en route by a prostitute, with whom he develops a romantic relationship, and a US official ordered to try and stop Rogan from completing his mission. Rod Taylor and Rex Harrison co-star.

"Ellie", a 1983 black comedy is about a family you wouldn't want as neighbors. Shelley Winters is the matriarch married to a much older, wheelchair-bound man with a beautiful daughter who determines to take the ultimate revenge when her dad dies under mysterious circumstances. Certain he was murdered by the family, she sets about seducing and killing all the sons, one by one...Edward is one of those sons. He is not exactly the chivalrous type; the photo shows him brandishing the lady's panties after chasing her down on his motorbike!

The 1978 "The Greek Tycoon" tells the story of Theo Thomassis, a powerful and wealthy Greek shipping magnate (Anthony Quinn) who falls in love with the wife of the President of the United States and, when the latter is assassinated, becomes her second husband. Sound familiar? Well it should. This is the undisguised story of Jacqueline Kennedy and Aristotle Onassis. 'Only the names have been changed to protect the innocent' as the old TV saying used to go! Filming locations, Jacqueline Bisset and Edward, as Thomassis's son, are all beautiful.

This movie was known both as "Project S" and "Accidents" (1988). When scientist Dr Eric Powers returns to his lab from a vacation with his daughter, he discovers his computer has been tampered with, and classified information stolen on the top secret 'Scout Project'. Further investigation reveals that his colleague has been murdered and the company is planning to use the device as a deadly weapon. A race against time begins for Eric, to see just who he can trust and whether he can destroy the his creation and stop the company.

Frank Robbins is a Sheriff with problems in a small town in "Kid Cop" (1996). His father and long-time colleague is about to get fired in the local Mayor's latest public spending cuts, and he doesn't know how to tell his Dad. He also feels responsible for the welfare of his late partner's wife and son, as the other man was killed in the line of duty and 'Frank' was very close to the family. He also has problems with the boy's fascination and self-involvement with police business, and when young 'Peter' sets about catching a husband and wife team of villains, it is yet another headache for Frank.

"The House Where Evil Dwells" (1982) is an unusual tale of haunting, possession, ghosts and a tragic crime of passion from the past. When professional photographer Ted is sent to Japan, he and his family rent a house with more history than they ever wanted. Slowly the happily married couple's relationship crumbles as spirits take over their bodies in a bid to repeat the violent and tragic deaths of the past. Edward stars with Susan George and Doug McClure in this oriental thriller.
